“Inspiring Future Generation through Innovation”

Virtual Innovation Competition 2020 (VIC2020)  is organized by Association of Information Scientists (AIS), Digital Information Interest Group (DIGIT), Research, Industry & Alumni Division, Universiti Teknologi MARA Kelantan, MALAYSIA, and Society of Information System Management (SISMA). Featuring innovations from diverse fields and streams, the objectives of the event are:

  • To nurture the culture of innovation and design in the field of teaching and learning and other related fields among educators, students, and the public.
  • Provides a prestigious platform for educators, students, and the public to participate and showcase their innovations and designs through a digital platform.

Due to great interest in VIC2020, we have decided to publish a full paper/extended abstract of your participation. Participants are encouraged to submit an extended abstract/ the full paper version of their project which will be published in e-proceeding (eISBN).


Last Submission Date: 30 June 2020

Expected Publication Date: October/November 2020

To speed up the publication process, we have utilized the Open Journal System (OJS) open-source information system.

In order to speed up the production process, the participant must follow the following steps:
1. Prepare your Extended Abstract using the template provided.
2. Register your account at the submission URL.
3. Upload your extended abstract (Microsoft Word).
4. Key-in authors details (for all participants).
5. Submit.

Judged by the experts

Participants will be judged by a panel of experts appointed by the organisers. Therefore, expect some constructive comments from our experts.


  • VIC2020 is open to all Local and International practitioners, academician, and students from the primary, secondary, and tertiery institutions (certificate level to PhD level).
  • Each participation should not consist of more than 5 members and 1 team leader (maximum of 6 persons per participation).
  • Each participant should apply for copyright to avoid infrigment of their innovation.
  • The organisers have the right to reject any entry deems unsuitable for the event.

Please upload the payment evidence when submitting your video and evidence.

Certificate of Competition

The organiser provides a digital certificate (e-certificate) of participation and award. However, if you need a printed version, you may fill in the printed certificate request form before the 1st of August, 2020 The price per certificate is RM10 plus RM10 for delivery (Participants may combine several certificates within a single delivery). Refund of Fee

No refund will be processed once payment has been made. Failure to submit the video within the time frame will void your application.



  • Register your project at VIC2020 website
  • A letter of Acceptance (LOA) will be issued for accepted project.
  • Upload your video to any cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, One Drive, etc)
  • Upload proof of payment, your video link, and evidences at VIC2020 website
  • Organiser will verify the payment, Once verified, the video will be uploaded into VIC2020 YouTube Channel
  • Panel of expert reviewers will review all the projects submitted..
  • Participants should promote their video to win the Most Outstanding Video Award
  • Announcement of results through VIC2020 YouTube Channel, VIC2020 website, and email.
  • The judges’ decision is final, and no appeals will be entertained.
  • We would like to remind the participants that using third party software, targeted ads, or buying views (and likes) will not be tolerated, resulting disqualification from the most outstanding video awards.





  • Due to several restrictions caused by the movement control order, we have decided to CANCELLED the category of Junior Scientists (JS). Apologise for any inconvenience.
